The DC Effects of Remote Sense and Connection ESR in Source-Load Applications
Generally, electronic devices require power sources to operate. In an idealization, the source is merely wired to the load device, and the task is done.
Such a simplification can be made for low power and short-distance connection between the source and the load, but is inaccurate for moderate to high power situations, especially for the situation of high current and long wire connections.
This whitepaper discusses and analyzes the DC effects of interconnection ESR in voltage regulators equipped with remote sense capability.
